The Tom Hoad Cup VII - International Water Polo Tournament will again be hosted at the picturesque Melville Water Polo Club form December 27-30, 2009.

The Tom Hoad Cup is the most prestigious Water Polo event staged in the Southern Hemisphere and with many of the International and Fremantle players having just returned from the Fina World Championships in Rome - this festival season will see Bicton come alive with World Class Water Polo. This unique event in the Western Australian calendar will provide four fabulous nights of quality competition, colourful crowds, high excitement and passion, all in a cosmopolitan and friendly environment.

Teams confirmed for Tom Hoad Cup include reigning 2008 champions the Barbarians (featuring 5 guest Croatian National Team players from the Jug Dubrovnik water polo club, National Australian players and local upcoming juniors), Vaas Hungary (featuring 3 Beijing Olympics Gold Medalists), Chinese National Team, Japanese National Team and 2009 Australian National League Champions the Fremantle Mariners (guest starring Daniel Varga - Beijing Olympics Gold Medalist).
